Although I’d suggest reinforcing the shelf on which the TV is sitting, I generally like this idea. I actually found your post while looking for an idea for concealing a TV inside a Pax unit.

I have to agree with the comments below, I bought a $3000 TV, $1000 hifi and a PS3 for my setup, no way would setup all those tech goodies on something like this, or in that state… it looks untidy and cheap.

Sorry… i bought a $500 solid wood unit, sturdy as hell and will last longer than this idea.
