Friday featured not one, but two of the most embarrassing errors you’ll ever witness in baseball. Behold as these well-compensated professionals forget foundational baseball they learned in little-league. Early in the afternoon, Milton Bradley starts us off by counting to three tossing a fly ball he caught into Wrigley’s bleachers, a time-honored tradition when the half-inning ends. The only problem: it was only the second out of the inning.

For those of you still reeling from the shock of seeing what $7,000,000 gets you, savor the collapse of the New York Mets against the New York Yankees. How bad was it? Sure handed second basemen Luis Castillo dropped the 27th out of the game, and diligent Yankee base runners both scored, winning the game on their last chance.

There you have it, major leaguers proving that not even $22,416,666 makes you immune to mistakes.

I’ve been listening to MLB.app since the start of the season and as rocky as it has been for the fighting phils, the app has been great.

It streams audio from the Phillies home radio station, even though I’m in San Francisco.

It plays highlight videos from mlb.tv.

It costs $10 per season, whereas the streaming audio feature from mlb.com costs $15.

Most importantly, it gives you a box score and play-by-play text.

Overall, I’ve had few issues with At Bat. Mainly, I’d appreciate it if there were full streaming video of the game, but I suspect they’ll do that for next season and charge $10-$20 more for the app.

The lesser issue is with my connectivity. I live in SF and AT&T’s network stinks, but the inability (on the part of the app or the iPhone) to switch between edge/3G while streaming the in-game audio is terrible. I have to wake my phone up just to get it to realize it should keep trying to get signal.

If you are usually in a wifi-zone like I am, though, you’ll be fine. We’re lucky to have At Bat on the iPhone and it is a steal at $9.99. As far as I know there are no blackouts for the radio stream.

According to NBC Chicago, the Mets and their hive of scum and villany, Citi Field, asked a fan to leave for wearing a Phillies jacket. Basically, the facts in the situation are these:

1. The Mets Suck
2. The Mets will have no Post-Season, again.
3. The Phillies are going to win the World Series, again.
4. The Mets REALLY Suck.
5. Citigroup went under because they’re involved with the Mets
6. The Rays Suck, too.
